Music Educator Support Group

You’re always supporting others. Here’s a space for you.

A small, therapist-led support group for Texas music educators looking for connection, stress relief, and sustainable support throughout the school year.

Groups run September through May and generally follow district holiday schedules.

Support that understands the realities of music education.

Teaching music can be meaningful, demanding, isolating, and difficult to leave at school.

The Music Educator Support Group offers a structured space to step out of the educator role, connect with others who understand the work, and develop practical ways to manage stress, boundaries, and the pressures of the school year.

You do not need to be in crisis or have a mental health diagnosis to benefit from support.

What the group supports

A place to work through the pressures that come with teaching

The group may include support around:

  • Burnout, overwhelm, and emotional exhaustion

  • Difficult interactions with students, families, colleagues, or administrators

  • Boundaries between work and personal life

  • Perfectionism and pressure to hold everything together

  • Performance season, contest season, and predictable high-stress periods

  • Isolation and the feeling that others do not fully understand the role

  • Reconnecting with motivation, flexibility, and a sense of sustainability

You do not need to share more than feels comfortable. Participation and reflection can look different for each group member.

What to expect

Gentle structure with room for real conversation

Each session includes a combination of guided reflection, practical tools, and supportive discussion.

Participants can expect:

  • A small, therapist-led group

  • Virtual 60-minute sessions

  • Clear confidentiality expectations

  • Practical support related to stress regulation and boundaries

  • Connection with other Texas music educators

  • Sharing that is always optional
