Kristin Behlmann, MA, LPC
Hi, I’m Kristin, a classically trained musician, former music educator, and now a licensed professional counselor in Texas and performance coach across the United States. My path has taken me from the concert stage to the classroom and into the world of counseling and performance coaching. Along the way, I’ve learned firsthand the unique pressures that come with being a musician and educator, and how those pressures can impact confidence, focus, and joy.
My Counseling & Performance Coaching Approach
I combine my background in music with training in counseling and sport psychology to give clients practical, evidence-based tools that actually work in high-pressure moments. My style is collaborative and supportive, whether I’m working with a student preparing for an audition, an educator balancing teaching and performing, or a client navigating stress and burnout.
Counseling and Performance Coaching Services
Counseling (Texas residents only): Therapy for anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, identity development, life transitions, and perinatal support for musicians and music educators.
Performance Coaching (available across the United states): Individual coaching, group masterclasses, ensemble workshops, and professional development for educators, all designed to help musicians and teachers manage nerves, sharpen focus, and perform with confidence.
Why I Do This Work
Music has always been central in my life. I know the joy of creating and performing, and I also know the stress, the long rehearsals, the late nights, and the weight of expectations. Musicians and educators deserve support that honors both their artistry and their humanity. My work is about helping you reduce stress, build confidence, and reconnect with the reason you started making music in the first place.
My Mission
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: performance should be a place of possibility, not pressure. My mission is to equip musicians and educators with practical tools to manage stress, trust themselves, and fully engage with their craft, both on stage and in everyday life.
Let’s Connect
Sometimes the best conversations happen over a cup of coffee or tea. That’s the spirit I bring to my work: relaxed, supportive, and focused on what matters most to you. I’d love to invite you to share a virtual cup of coffee with me during a free 15-minute consultation, where we can talk about your goals and see how I can support you.
