A therapist-led virtual support group for Texas music educators navigating stress, burnout, professional pressure, changing roles, and the emotional demands of teaching.
Mondays, 5:30–6:30 p.m. CT

A Therapeutic Space That Understands Music Education.
Music educators balance teaching, artistry, leadership, advocacy, administration, student needs, performances, and the responsibility of sustaining a program. Even deeply meaningful work can become exhausting, isolating, or difficult to carry alone.
The Music Educator Support Group offers a confidential space to speak honestly, connect with educators who understand the profession, and develop healthier, more sustainable ways of navigating the school year.
You do not have to explain the entire world of music education here.

This therapy-based group is available to adult music educators who currently reside in Texas.
It may be a fit for educators working in:
Public or private schools
Elementary, middle, or high school programs
Colleges or universities
Private studios or community music programs
Fine arts leadership or administration

Group conversations may include:
Stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion
Boundaries, workload, and recovery
Performance, competition, and audition seasons
Perfectionism and professional pressure
Motivation, disconnection, and career uncertainty
Difficult program, parent, student, or administrative dynamics
Professional identity and changing roles
Maintaining meaning and sustainability in the work
Topics are shaped by the needs and experiences of current group members.

Meets virtually on Mondays from 5:30–6:30 p.m. CT
Runs from September through May
Follows most major school-year holiday breaks
Open to music educators located in Texas
Rolling enrollment is available as space allows
New members begin with an initial four-session enrollment period
Participation continues month to month afterward
Sessions are $40 each
A brief consultation is required before joining
No diagnosis is required to participate
Weekly attendance is encouraged because consistency supports connection and trust within the group.
Occasional absences due to concerts, school events, illness, or family responsibilities are understandable. -
The group meets virtually on Mondays from 5:30–6:30 p.m. CT and is available to music educators located in Texas.

December 7 and 14There will be no meetings October 12 or November 23.

About the Facilitator
Kristin Behlmann, MM, MA, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor, performance coach, former middle school orchestra director, longtime cello teacher, and active orchestral musician.
Her work supports musicians and music educators navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, performance pressure, professional identity, and the demands of teaching. She understands music education from inside the profession and brings that perspective into the group.

The Music Educator Support Group is a group therapy service available only to Texas residents. Participation is subject to clinical fit and group availability. This group does not replace individual therapy or emergency mental health services.
